Say No To 0870 Numbers

For those in the UK that are fed up with being ‘ripped off’ on the dreaded costly 0 prefix telephone numbers, there is a free service that gives you an alternative. Go to www.saynoto0870.com

This service applies to 0844, 0845, 0870, 0871 numbers plus others. All that is required is that you click on ‘search to find an alternative number’, input the number in the search box, click on search and where available it will give you the geographical area number and in some cases even a freephone number.

I hope this has been of some help, please pass it on and eventually these companies will get the message.

Thanks for the comments Mike, I am ‘blog hopping’ at the moment. It’s becoming a full time job in itself as there are that many to look at, but it is an enjoyable exercise. Bill

Thanks for the comment John, yes I am enrolled with the TPS but still get calls. These are mainly from abroad regarding bonus holidays. Unfortunately the TPS have no control over foreign companies and when you mention them, the callers have no idea what you are talking about.
I find the best strategy is to let my 4 year old granddaughter talk to them, they soon end the call. If she’s not here I don’t even talk to them, I just put the phone down. Bill

john Wright here from Warrington in cheshire. Whilst we are on the subject of telephone numbers, I was being inundated with companies ringing me up at home selling double glazing, debt management. these unsolicited phone calls can be a menace. Especially late at night.
The government run a company called The telephone Preference service
( TPS ) who prosecute companies aggressively if they call any member of the TPS without first checking if they are a member. It has all but cut out every unwanted phone call now and we are just contacted by friends or those invited to ring. Try it it’s free and it works and if somebody rings you up without checking listen to them squirm
when you threaten to report them. They never ring back .
