Great British Comedians – Part 1

Peter Cook and Dudley Moore

The  ’Pete and Dud’ series was created by comedian and entertainer Peter Cook in 1964. Starring himself and Dudley Moore it was a massive hit with TV audiences and they later portraid the characters in the series ‘Not Only…But Also’. Pete and Dud were both supposedly from Dagenham in Essex, and the hilarious dialogues, scripted by Peter Cook were comedy gems.

Both wore flat caps and Pete was a know it all who saw himself as an interlectual, while Dud played the subserviant one trying to impress his colleague with his worldly knowledge.

Markets & Niches – Assessing Market Competition

The best way to achieve visitors to your website is obtain a page one listing in Google. Unfortunately only 10 listings are featured on the first page for each keyword phrase and of course there are many websites competing for this front page position.

The number one reason why people fail in an online business is that they fail to assess the strength of the competition. They blindly jump into a niche and start creating content on their site and just hope that Google will magically list the site on the front page.

A Beautiful Mind

Some things are just inexplicable, here’s one example.

Spam, Spam, Spam.

The Bloggers Curse

Recent posts on spam by John McNally  got me thinking what response I would make if I was replying to the real ‘writer’. Here’s a few recent ones I have received with my replies in italics.

Hey, Good to see the blog is still live. what do you believe gonna happen next?
I think you are going to return and leave another spam comment.

I have been producing for Ghost Writers for a while now, and they pay me good to write blog posts like this, or articles. I clear $100-$200 on a awful morning.
What do you clear when it’s not raining?

The Husband Creche

Coming Soon – A Franchise Near You

Ladies, how do you feel about shopping with your husband? Is it an enjoyable experience or something you dread?

My wife doesn’t enjoy shopping when I accompany her, she says I whizz around the shops, have no patience, get bored, tend to wander off and I spend too much.

I think this is a universal problem with most men and an enterprising individual has come up with a perfect solution to this problem.

Amazing Flying Feats – Part 1

Mid-Air Repair

Take a look at this video. Fabulous footage although it’s grainy due to time and the equipment used in those days compared to today, but what nerve this girl had.

Gladys Ingles was a member of a barnstorming troupe called the 13 Black Cats in the 1920s. Ingles was a wing walker; in this film, she shows her fearlessness in a classic barnstorming fashion to save an airplane that has lost one of its main wheels. Ingles is shown with a replacement wheel being strapped to her back and then off she goes as “Up She Goes,” a duet from the era, provides the soundtrack. In the video, Ingles transfers herself from the rescue plane to the one missing the main landing gear tyre. She then expertly works herself down to the undercarriage only a few feet from a spinning prop. It’s certainly a feat many mechanics wouldn’t even try on the ground with the engine running.
