Not For The Faint Hearted!

One of my favourite pastimes is mountain walking and long distance trail walking. Sometimes with friends or family, my wife and I have climbed most of the high mountains in the UK, Southern Ireland and some European countries such as Sardinia, La Gomera, La Palma, Majorca, Cyprus, Crete and Madeira. Even though she suffers from vertigo she still tackles them and then complains afterwards.

Technical Support – Thank goodness I have some !

I’m more focused on getting the sales side of things done on my blog rather than the technical web stuff.

Getting something wrong in wordpress can wreck the whole layout and recovering it isn’t so easy unless you’ve a strict backup procedure, and, let’s be honest who has ?

When was the last time you backed up up your blog, for example?

I rely on a friend of mine who has worked on a few of my projects. His technical skill in PCs and web stuff has allowed me to continue to focus on the bits I like most in Johns course rather than tear my hair out with the publishing and wordpress management.

Longevity – Survived By

We all know that the lifespan of women is greater than that of men but what is the reason for this and why should it be so? In all mammal species the larger individuals tend to have shorter lives. Men on average die 5.2 years earlier than women. In the United States the average life expectancy for women is 80.4 years, while men can expect to live to 75.2 years. The greatest life expectancy gap between men and women is in Russia, a country renowned for heavy drinking and high rates of suicide. The women there live on average 12 years longer than the mens average life span of 57 years.

Thought For The Week

What happens if you get scared half to death, twice?

The husband Store

For all ladies with a sense of humour!

The Husband Store.

A store that sells new husbands has opened in New York City, where a woman may go to choose a new husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates:

You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building.

The Grand Scuttle

A true story of World War 1 that many people have little knowledge of, happened after the end of hostilities on 21st June 1919. This was the scuttling of the German High Seas Fleet at Scapa Flow, a body of water encompassed by the Orkney Islands of Mainland, Burray, South Ronaldsay, Flotta, Hoy and Graemsay.

In the late 1970′s a party of divers from Oldham, Lancashire, UK were amongst the first sport divers to dive the wrecks of this once mighty fleet, I was fortunate to be one of them. It was an unforgettable experience seeing these huge warships bottom up or some on their sides with massive guns pointing into the darkness.
